Happy 3 Months Hannah!

Dearest Hannah,
I can't believe you are three months old, time has gone by pretty quickly! It felt like only yesterday you were still in Mommy's belly kicking away. You are growing so well, and changing right before our eyes. You have been doing new things and learning new skills every day which makes Daddy and I so happy. You are such a huge blessing in our lives, and I look forward to seeing your smiling face every day!

The Third Month of Hannah's Life

Height & Weight: At your doctor's appointment in the beginning of September you were 10 lbs. 10 oz. which means at this point you should be around 12 lbs. You are also 23 inches long!

Sleeping: You are still sleeping 8-10 hours a night which is awesome! We are starting to put you to bed between 8:30-9:30pm and you usually sleep til 7-8am. Usually you start grunting and stirring around 6am when Mommy gets up to get ready for work. You are still falling asleep on your own at night and during naptime but usually cry for 15 minutes until you fall asleep. At this point you are still sleeping in your rocker in our bedroom, but that will change once we move you to your crib come November! At Miss Debbie's (babysitter) you nap in your pack and play. As for naps you take a cat nap in the morning for around an hour or so, and then one long 3 hour nap in the afternoon. Keep it up Baby Girl!

Eating: You are eating about 6 times a day and go 3 hours in between feedings. We have switched over to just formula and you are eating 5 1/2 -6 oz.

Your Hair: It is growing so long! Daddy and I noticed it's starting to change color to a dark shade of brown with light brown highlights. I love love love your hair! I hope to be able to put some tiny pigtails in it soon!

Your Eyes: They are still dark brown and beautiful!

Clothes: It is now Fall so we have started diving into all your comfy clothes! You are still wearing 0-3 months and probably will be able to for another few weeks! You have an adorable Fall/Winter wardrobe thanks to Grandma and Poppa! Mommy also bought your Halloween costume, which we are going to have your pictures taken in! You are going to be a cute little lamb. We are still looking for a Winter coat/Snow suit, hopefully we won't need that for some time.

Diapers: You are wearing Size 1 Pampers Swaddlers. Your cloth diapers are all washed and ready to go and we finally put you in one!

Favorite Toys: You have finally started to love your swing!! It took 3 months but you are getting used to it and falling asleep in it. We have started to expose you to all your toys (rattles, noise makers, etc.) and you are so alert and ready to grab at them! You are still amazed by your Mobile Jungle Gym, and love the flashing lights that go off as the music plays. I can't wait until you are able to start grasping your toys and playing with them on your own.

Your Favorite Songs: You still like when Daddy sings Jesus Loves You to you. Also Mommy has been playing a Toddler Station for you on Pandora and you still to like the music!

Nicknames: Mommy and Daddy call you Lovey and Princess still! Others call you Hannah Poo and Hannah Banana!

Milestones: You are almost ready to roll over and have started to sit up on your own for a very short amount of time. Your Bumbo seat helps strengthen your back, and lets you watch the world around you. Mommy and Daddy love waking up to your smiling face every morning. You smile and laugh so much now, it's the highlight of our days.

Happy 2 Months Baby Girl!

Dearest Hannah,

You have grown and changed so much in the past month. Your personality is starting to shine and you are becoming more animated. Mommy & Daddy can't believe the amount of joy you have brought into our lives. We couldn't be more blessed, and we just love you more than words can ever describe. You are growing every day, and we look forward to seeing your beautiful smile and hearing your laugh every morning. You make our lives complete.

The Second Month of Hannah's Life:

Height & Weight: As of August 15th(6 week checkup) you were 8lbs. 13oz. so at this point you are definitely over 9 lbs! You were also 21 1/2 inches long!

Sleeping: You are sleeping about 6-7 hours a night which is fantastic. Although, lately you have been waking up around 5am to eat which means you are probably going through a growth spurt. We have been putting you to bed at 10-1030pm and most times you sleep til 630-7am. You are no longer rocked to sleep or falling asleep on Daddy's chest as we are trying to get you to fall asleep on your own. You are still sleeping in your rocker in our bedroom and often cry for about 10-15 minutes before falling asleep. Recently, you started taking a long nap in the afternoon but only because you are swaddled, otherwise you have trouble napping because you startle and wake yourself up. At this point you are taking one long nap, and small 10 min power naps throughout the day. You also love sleeping on your stomach for naps, but we only let you do that when Mommy or Daddy are right next to you.

Eating: You are eating about 7 times a day and go 2 1/2-3 hours between feedings. Eating about 5 oz. at this point of breast milk mixed with formula but we may be bumping it up soon!

Your Hair: Your hair is definitely growing and getting longer! You have lost none of your hair since birth which makes Mommy super happy. We have started putting hair clips and headbands in your hair and you look so adorable! It seems like it's getting to be a lighter brown color and is spiky like Daddy's hair.

Your Eyes: They are almond shaped and have changed into a dark gorgeous brown color!

Clothes: You have grown out of your newborn clothes and Mommy was very sad when she decided it was time to pack them away. Currently, you are wearing 0-3 months and will probably stay that way for some time. Your summer clothes are beyond adorable. You like to pose for the camera and show off your outfits!

Diapers: Wearing Size 1 Pampers Swaddlers which you seem to like. Next week we will start cloth diapering you part-time and then eventually move it to full-time by the end of September hopefully. Mommy is very excited about cloth diapering! You will be wearing Bum Genius 4.0 All In Ones Diapers.

Favorite Toys: Lately you really seem to enjoy your bouncer because of the vibrating seat, but it looks like you may grow out of it pretty soon! You are also starting to like your rattles or toys that have sounds or make crinkle noises. Anything with lights seem to grab your attention. You are becoming mesmerized by many different toys, and it's so awesome to watch!

Your Favorite Songs: You seem to like it when Daddy sings Jesus Loves You This I Know!

Nicknames: Mommy & Daddy call you Lovey, Princess, Hannah Banana, Aunt Chrissie like to call you Hannah Poopiepants & Aunt Deanna has been calling you Bunny because we are in the year of the Rabbit.

Milestones: So many things have been happening this month! First off you got your first 2 shots from Dr. E and hated every second of it. Daddy held you while you cried your eyes out and Mommy looked on in horror!

This month you have started laughing every morning when you wake up which is wonderful to hear. Mommy loves talking to you in the morning and holding conversations with you while you coo and laugh. You also love to look at Mommy & Daddy and know our faces by now. 

Daddy baptized you on August 21st which was an incredible experience and we can't wait to tell you all about it one day. You also went on your first vacation to North Carolina to visit Poppa's family! You had a great time and met so many of our family members. The car ride was rough for you at times, but you did great for a 12-13 hour trip! You went many different places and did so well while we ate at restaurants and you enjoyed your first experiences at Ihop and Cracker Barrel!

One last thing you did on vacation was find your hand and you began sucking on it! You are totally looking for your thumb and we are anxiously waiting until you are able to find it! You suck on your hands constantly now and it soothes you when you are fussy. We are looking forward to see what the next month brings!

Hannah's Baptism

Hannah was baptized on August 21st into God's family. It was a wonderful experience and Travis & I were looking forward to it for weeks. We had even begun planning it before she was born because we knew it was going to be very special for our family. 

The weekend was definitely a whirlwind! We had Jace (the Godfather), Jana, and Krista staying with us for a few days, the house was cleaned from top to bottom, we hosted a PreBaptism BBQ the night before with our friends & family, got everything set up (favors, centerpieces, tables), and also prepared for our vacation to North Carolina because we were leaving the Monday after the Baptism. I was stressed beyond belief especially since we were having a big amount of people at our house. Lucky enough we were having it catered, so cooking was out of the question for me.

All in all it ended up being a great day with a lot of good memories made! The most special was witnessing Travis baptize our daughter. I know this was something that meant so much to him as a father and a pastor. It was an emotional experience for him as well as for me. Church service was packed! It will be a dear memory we will never forget. Once that was finished we moved on to the party!

After all the stress of preparing for it the party went out without a hitch. Brian, who is the Head Elder at our church and is also a chef catered the party for us. Travis and him came up with the bright idea of smoking a 45 lb. pig! I was disgusted by the idea for the most part especially when I saw it on my deck at 7am in the morning before it was BBQed.

When I tasted I finally gathered up the courage to taste it, it was so delicious! All the dishes were so good, we had a feast! I couldn't of been more happier with the food, everyone was complimenting how good everything tasted.

Hannah was passed around all day! She definitely had a wonderful time seeing everyone, she will never remember it but it was a great experience for her. She was pooped by the end of the night and went to bed easily. I'm so glad we decided to have the party at our house. Even though it was so much work, I would do it again in a heartbeat. We are thinking about having her 1st Birthday Party here, and I'm already brainstorming themes, especially since she was born on the 4th of July!
