On Friday night we decided to transition Hannah from her Rock and Play Rocker in our room to her crib in the nursery without her being swaddled. We knew it was time, but had been delaying it because we were comforted that she was sleeping next to us.

For the whole week she has been napping in her Pack and Play or crib without being swaddled and she didn't really have a problem. I told myself this was going to be rough, and yes it has been.

Night 1 was a nightmare, she woke up every 45 minutes from 1230-6am and therefore Mommy and Daddy were also up and exhausted. She wasn't used to not being swaddled at night and having space to move around. She was crying a lot or extremely fussy. There were a few times I wanted to give in and just swaddle her, but Travis convinced me it wasn't a good idea. It was frustrating, overwhelming and a few tears on my part. We got through the night, but Hannah was very tired throughout the day.

Last night was Night 2 and she slept from 9-330am without waking up. She fell back to sleep quickly and woke up at 530am because she was hungry. Couldnt get her back down until 645am or
so. I'm exhausted and a bit frustrated and hope this week goes okay, as it wouldn't be easy going into work with 5 hours of sleep. I'm lucky to have a husband that keeps me sane, calm and reassures me we are doing the right thing and to push through.

Here's to hoping we have a smooth week!

Happy 3 Months Hannah!

Dearest Hannah,
I can't believe you are three months old, time has gone by pretty quickly! It felt like only yesterday you were still in Mommy's belly kicking away. You are growing so well, and changing right before our eyes. You have been doing new things and learning new skills every day which makes Daddy and I so happy. You are such a huge blessing in our lives, and I look forward to seeing your smiling face every day!
Daddy and I love you more than words can say!

Mommy & Daddy

The Third Month of Hannah's Life

Height & Weight: At your doctor's appointment in the beginning of September you were 10 lbs. 10 oz. which means at this point you should be around 12 lbs. You are also 23 inches long!

Sleeping: You are still sleeping 8-10 hours a night which is awesome! We are starting to put you to bed between 8:30-9:30pm and you usually sleep til 7-8am. Usually you start grunting and stirring around 6am when Mommy gets up to get ready for work. You are still falling asleep on your own at night and during naptime but usually cry for 15 minutes until you fall asleep. At this point you are still sleeping in your rocker in our bedroom, but that will change once we move you to your crib come November! At Miss Debbie's (babysitter) you nap in your pack and play. As for naps you take a cat nap in the morning for around an hour or so, and then one long 3 hour nap in the afternoon. Keep it up Baby Girl!

Eating: You are eating about 6 times a day and go 3 hours in between feedings. We have switched over to just formula and you are eating 5 1/2 -6 oz.

Your Hair: It is growing so long! Daddy and I noticed it's starting to change color to a dark shade of brown with light brown highlights. I love love love your hair! I hope to be able to put some tiny pigtails in it soon!

Your Eyes: They are still dark brown and beautiful!

Clothes: It is now Fall so we have started diving into all your comfy clothes! You are still wearing 0-3 months and probably will be able to for another few weeks! You have an adorable Fall/Winter wardrobe thanks to Grandma and Poppa! Mommy also bought your Halloween costume, which we are going to have your pictures taken in! You are going to be a cute little lamb. We are still looking for a Winter coat/Snow suit, hopefully we won't need that for some time.

Diapers: You are wearing Size 1 Pampers Swaddlers. Your cloth diapers are all washed and ready to go and we finally put you in one!

Favorite Toys: You have finally started to love your swing!! It took 3 months but you are getting used to it and falling asleep in it. We have started to expose you to all your toys (rattles, noise makers, etc.) and you are so alert and ready to grab at them! You are still amazed by your Mobile Jungle Gym, and love the flashing lights that go off as the music plays. I can't wait until you are able to start grasping your toys and playing with them on your own.

Your Favorite Songs: You still like when Daddy sings Jesus Loves You to you. Also Mommy has been playing a Toddler Station for you on Pandora and you still to like the music!

Nicknames: Mommy and Daddy call you Lovey and Princess still! Others call you Hannah Poo and Hannah Banana!

Milestones: You are almost ready to roll over and have started to sit up on your own for a very short amount of time. Your Bumbo seat helps strengthen your back, and lets you watch the world around you. Mommy and Daddy love waking up to your smiling face every morning. You smile and laugh so much now, it's the highlight of our days.

Happy 3 Months Hannah Grace!!!

Happy 2 Months Baby Girl!

Dearest Hannah,
You have grown and changed so much in the past month. Your personality is starting to shine and you are becoming more animated. Mommy & Daddy can't believe the amount of joy you have brought into our lives. We couldn't be more blessed, and we just love you more than words can ever describe. You are growing every day, and we look forward to seeing your beautiful smile and hearing your laugh every morning. You make our lives complete.
We love you more and more every day!

Mommy & Daddy

The Second Month of Hannah's Life:

Height & Weight: As of August 15th(6 week checkup) you were 8lbs. 13oz. so at this point you are definitely over 9 lbs! You were also 21 1/2 inches long!

Sleeping: You are sleeping about 6-7 hours a night which is fantastic. Although, lately you have been waking up around 5am to eat which means you are probably going through a growth spurt. We have been putting you to bed at 10-1030pm and most times you sleep til 630-7am. You are no longer rocked to sleep or falling asleep on Daddy's chest as we are trying to get you to fall asleep on your own. You are still sleeping in your rocker in our bedroom and often cry for about 10-15 minutes before falling asleep. Recently, you started taking a long nap in the afternoon but only because you are swaddled, otherwise you have trouble napping because you startle and wake yourself up. At this point you are taking one long nap, and small 10 min power naps throughout the day. You also love sleeping on your stomach for naps, but we only let you do that when Mommy or Daddy are right next to you.

Eating: You are eating about 7 times a day and go 2 1/2-3 hours between feedings. Eating about 5 oz. at this point of breast milk mixed with formula but we may be bumping it up soon!

Your Hair: Your hair is definitely growing and getting longer! You have lost none of your hair since birth which makes Mommy super happy. We have started putting hair clips and headbands in your hair and you look so adorable! It seems like it's getting to be a lighter brown color and is spiky like Daddy's hair.

Your Eyes: They are almond shaped and have changed into a dark gorgeous brown color!

Clothes: You have grown out of your newborn clothes and Mommy was very sad when she decided it was time to pack them away. Currently, you are wearing 0-3 months and will probably stay that way for some time. Your summer clothes are beyond adorable. You like to pose for the camera and show off your outfits!

Diapers: Wearing Size 1 Pampers Swaddlers which you seem to like. Next week we will start cloth diapering you part-time and then eventually move it to full-time by the end of September hopefully. Mommy is very excited about cloth diapering! You will be wearing Bum Genius 4.0 All In Ones Diapers.

Favorite Toys: Lately you really seem to enjoy your bouncer because of the vibrating seat, but it looks like you may grow out of it pretty soon! You are also starting to like your rattles or toys that have sounds or make crinkle noises. Anything with lights seem to grab your attention. You are becoming mesmerized by many different toys, and it's so awesome to watch!

Your Favorite Songs: You seem to like it when Daddy sings Jesus Loves You This I Know!

Nicknames: Mommy & Daddy call you Lovey, Princess, Hannah Banana, Aunt Chrissie like to call you Hannah Poopiepants & Aunt Deanna has been calling you Bunny because we are in the year of the Rabbit.

Milestones: So many things have been happening this month! First off you got your first 2 shots from Dr. E and hated every second of it. Daddy held you while you cried your eyes out and Mommy looked on in horror!
This month you have started laughing every morning when you wake up which is wonderful to hear. Mommy loves talking to you in the morning and holding conversations with you while you coo and laugh. You also love to look at Mommy & Daddy and know our faces by now.
Daddy baptized you on August 21st which was an incredible experience and we can't wait to tell you all about it one day. You also went on your first vacation to North Carolina to visit Poppa's family! You had a great time and met so many of our family members. The car ride was rough for you at times, but you did great for a 12-13 hour trip! You went many different places and did so well while we ate at restaurants and you enjoyed your first experiences at Ihop and Cracker Barrel!
One last thing you did on vacation was find your hand and you began sucking on it! You are totally looking for your thumb and we are anxiously waiting until you are able to find it! You suck on your hands constantly now and it soothes you when you are fussy. We are looking forward to see what the next month brings!

Happy 2 Months Hannah Grace!!!

Hannah's Baptism

Hannah was baptized on August 21st into God's family. It was a wonderful experience and Travis & I were looking forward to it for weeks. We had even begun planning it before she was born because we knew it was going to be very special for our family.

The weekend was definitely a whirlwind! We had Jace (the Godfather), Jana, and Krista staying with us for a few days, the house was cleaned from top to bottom, we hosted a PreBaptism BBQ the night before with our friends & family, got everything set up (favors, centerpieces, tables), and also prepared for our vacation to North Carolina because we were leaving the Monday after the Baptism. I was stressed beyond belief especially since we were having a big amount of people at our house. Lucky enough we were having it catered, so cooking was out of the question for me.

All in all it ended up being a great day with a lot of good memories made! The most special was witnessing Travis baptize our daughter. I know this was something that meant so much to him as a father and a pastor. It was an emotional experience for him as well as for me. Church service was packed! It will be a dear memory we will never forget. Once that was finished we moved on to the party!

After all the stress of preparing for it the party went out without a hitch. Brian, who is the Head Elder at our church and is also a chef catered the party for us. Travis and him came up with the bright idea of smoking a 45 lb. pig! I was disgusted by the idea for the most part especially when I saw it on my deck at 7am in the morning before it was BBQed.
When I tasted I finally gathered up the courage to taste it, it was so delicious! All the dishes were so good, we had a feast! I couldn't of been more happier with the food, everyone was complimenting how good everything tasted.

Hannah was passed around all day! She definitely had a wonderful time seeing everyone, she will never remember it but it was a great experience for her. She was pooped by the end of the night and went to bed easily. I'm so glad we decided to have the party at our house. Even though it was so much work, I would do it again in a heartbeat. We are thinking about having her 1st Birthday Party here, and I'm already brainstorming themes, especially since she was born on the 4th of July!

Here are a few other pictures from the day!
Pooped beyond belief!

What I've Learned About Motherhood

Being a mother is the most rewarding and incredible feeling I will ever have. There is no feeling to describe how much you love your little bundle of joy. But let's face it, motherhood isn't easy and peachy-keen all the time. Some days are downright tough and you feel like you aren't cut out for it. But in the end you learn new things day by day and as long as Hannah is growing and happy that's the most important thing to me!

Here is what I've learned about motherhood in the past month:

  1. Waking up to see Hannah and watch her smile in her sleep makes my heart fill with joy.
  2. Pee and poop become a part of your every day vocabulary with your husband.
  3. Hearing your baby cry and not being able to figure out how to comfort them is so exhausting and frustrating after you go through the diaper change, feeding, and burping them for gas.
  4. Pacifiers are my new best friend!
  5. Cutting Hannah's nails freak me out beyond belief and I only try to do it when she starts scratching her face because I'm nervous I'm going to cut her skin open.
  6. Not every child loves their swing!!
  7. The "witching hour" or Hannah's fussy time is from 7-10pm, so tv is usually off limits and our shows are always DVRed.
  8. Your clothes are never clean once you have a baby, they either pee, poop or spit up on you!
  9. Hannah has more laundry than Travis and I combined. I'm doing her laundry at least 3-4 times a week, shoot me!!
  10. You check on your baby throughout the night to see if they are breathing. Travis thinks I'm paranoid but I do it almost every night when I go to bed and if I wake up throughout the night.
  11. Leaving the house is now a huge process, and it's hard not to be late anywhere.
  12. Hearing your child laugh for the first time is so wonderful, it's worth getting up at 4am to feed and change her!
  13. Breastfeeding is not easy and is not for everyone.
  14. When your baby naps you get more done in your house than you ever did in a day before you were pregnant.
  15. Through all the ups and downs I wouldn't trade being Hannah's mommy for anything! She is the light of our lives and makes everything worth while!

Baby Girl You Are One Month Old!

Dearest Hannah,
You have blessed our life beyond belief! We love every second with you including when you are super fussy. I don't remember what my life was like before we had you. It is rewarding and incredible to be your parents! You are getting so big right before our eyes!
We love you to pieces!

Mommy & Daddy

The First Month of Hannah's Life:

Height & Weight: As of July 27th you were 7 lbs. 10 oz. so I'm sure you are almost 8 lbs now! You are also 20 inches long!

Sleeping: It varies! But for the most part you are sleeping through the night. We are sure lucky parents! We put you to bed around 11:30pm and you usually wake up around 6:00-7:30am. You love falling asleep on Daddy's chest! You are still sleeping in your Fisher Price Rocker and refuse to sleep in the bassinet. We have those few nights where you wake up around 4am to eat but it's very rare.  Napping is a different story! You usually take 1-2 naps a day for around 3 hours each. You don't want to be put down to nap yet which makes things a little rough, but hopefully you will adjust soon. But when you nap you are usually out for a while which makes Mommy happy!

Eating: You are eating around 7-8 times a day and go 3 hours between feedings. Eating about a 4 oz. bottle of breast milk mixed with formula! We are looking to increase to 5-6 oz. within the next 2 weeks.

Your Hair: You have a ton of it! None of it has fallen out since birth, and we absolutely love it! It looks black, but if you look closely it's a dark brown color. Mommy loves putting bows in your hair!

Your Eyes: They are pretty dark, sometimes they look blue in the light but I think they are either brown or dark hazel.

Clothes: You are still so tiny and fitting into newborn clothes. But this week we are finally starting to wear our 0-3 month clothing!

Diapers: Wearing newborn diapers still, but may move you into size 1 today! Planning on starting to cloth diaper around the end of August.

Favorite Toys: You are finally starting to enjoy your your Luv U Zoo mobile gym! You get so excited when you see the toys that are hanging on it, and love staring at the bright lights. Other than that you are interested in your other toys yet.

Your Favorite Songs: Mommy started singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to you last night and you just stared! So hopefully that will help right now when you are fussy!

Nicknames: Daddy calls you princess and Mommy calls you Lovey or Hannah Banana!

Milestones: You are finally starting to smile!! Also today was the first time you didn't scream and yelp during Bath Time, so Mommy definitely considers that a milestone! Gaining weight was also a huge milestone for you because you were having trouble doing so. You are also becoming much more aware of your hands and feet and noticing that they are attached to your body. You are also starting to focus on people & objects especially Mommy and Daddy!

Happy 1 Month Hannah Grace!!!!

The Birth of Hannah Grace Yee

I finally am able to sit down and write about the birth of our beautiful baby girl Hannah. It was probably the best emotional rollercoaster experience I will ever have. Here it goes:

When I went to the OB on July 1st, I wasn't dilated all that much, but the doctor thought I would go into labor on my own over the weekend. So Travis and I did a ton of walking around on Friday and Saturday to naturally induce me, and maybe have contractions start. On July 3rd around 4:30pm I went to the hospital because I thought my water had been leaking all weekend and contractions were coming and going. Travis and I didn't think I was going to be admitted because my contractions weren't strong enough, so I thought I would have been sent home. I had already been scheduled for an induction on July 4th at 7pm if I didn't go into labor naturally, so I figured they would just check me and have me wait it out at our house.

They decided to admit me then because I was dilated to 3cm which I was surprised about. The walking helped!! So the OB broke my water and started me on pitocin. I wasn't too thrilled about that because I had heard that Pitocin makes your contractions unbearable. I had mild contractions for about 2-3 hours, and was able to tolerate them for the most part. The only thing I had to deal with at that point was hunger, it had been about 7pm and I hadn't eaten since 11am that morning. Travis of course was also complaining about being hungry and I wanted him to be alert as possible, so he and my Dad went to Burger King which made me super jealous! Right after he left my contractions got horrendous, they were pretty unbearable. I'm happy my Mom had been in the room with me, because they started to come every 1-2 minutes and the OB checked me and I was dilated to 5cm. I wanted to go as long as possible without the epidural because I knew once I had it labor would slow down.

As soon as Travis came back I decided to get the epidural which was a tad bit painful but what was worse was sitting still while getting it done because the contractions were so intense.. Everyone who has had a natural birth I admire you! I seriously had tried to do it for a few hours but knew that it definitely wasn't for me. The epidural was a lifesaver! I couldn't believe how quickly I felt better, and I didn't feel any pain at all. The only thing was it slowed down my progress. I was stalled at 6cm for like 3-4 hours. Finally at 2am I was at 10cm and my epidural had wore off, and I started pushing. It was probably one of the hardest things I'll ever do. Hannah didn't want to come out, and I was so exhausted from pushing for an hour I thought it would never be over. If it wasn't for my husband and labor nurse I would have never been able to get past pushing. They were great motivators! Finally at 3:27am on July 4th, our beautiful baby girl, Hannah Grace Yee was born at 7lbs. 6 oz. and 20 inches long. In all my labor and delivery was about 9 hours long, which I don't think is terrible at all. I had a fairly easy delivery compared to a lot of other first time mothers I know.

The feelings I felt when I finally saw Hannah were unbelievable, the minute I saw her my whole life changed, and you just have this huge indescribable amount of love towards your baby. You really can't explain it. I must have cried non-stop for a half an hour, the feelings were overwhelming, she's just perfect, I don't even have the words for it.

Travis and I just marveled at her, and couldn't believe she was finally here after 9 long months of pregnancy. I said throughout my pregnancy I would never go through this again, after Hannah's birth I would definitely want to have another child. I'm so in love with her. She's just perfect in every way, shape and form.

More to come about Hannah! Here are some newborn pictures!

6 weeks and counting

Ultrasound-33 weeks
Only 6 more weeks! I will be 35 weeks this Sunday, and couldn't be more happier about it. Getting closer to meeting Baby Girl is an exciting but nerve racking feeling. Travis and I are trying to prepare ourselves for what is to come, and I could tell he's starting to get rattled now. I just can't wait for her to get here and see her beautiful face.

We had an ultrasound last week and she is currently weighing in at 4lbs. 13 oz. The perinatologist told us it looks like she has a lot of hair and chubby cheeks! I can't imagine what she is going to look like. Everything seems to look like it's going well, no signs of pre-term labor which is what my OBGYN was most worried about.

This heat is definitely taking a toll on my body. Just trying to take it day by day and adjust to becoming huge, at least that's the way I feel. We have been so busy every weekend with activities that it's hard finding time just to rest. I'm also in that stage where I feel the need to clean my house all the time, so I guess it's the start of my nesting period. The nursery is painted and new carpet has been installed, it looks gorgeous, it's the perfect color!

The nursery furniture was delivered yesterday and I can't wait until it's all put together and the room is set up. Everything is starting to become real now! Baby Yee has received so many gifts already! Our church threw Travis and I a Baby Shower on May 15th, it was great, and our congregation members were more than generous! Our house looks like baby central has hit it, can't imagine what it will be like after my family/friends Baby Shower.

We also went on a tour of the Maternity Ward at the hospital where she will be born. What a reality check that was. Definitely scared me, especially when I saw the Labor and Delivery Rooms. Trying not to think about that too much because I freak myself out if I do.

Hopefully will be able to update soon with Nursery pics!

Third Trimester Jitters

So the third trimester is finally here. There are 8 weeks and 6 days til my due date, not that I’m counting or anything. Will be 8 months on Sunday! At this point I’m experiencing the crappy symptoms of this wonderful trimester: unbearable heartburn, endless bathrooms breaks especially during the middle of the night, backaches, swollen feet and cankles (or as Travis calls them my fat feet), and restless nights of sleep. On a positive note the baby is moving a whole lot which is awesome and wonderful to feel except when she is laying on my ribcage. Feeling her hiccup and move around is something I will miss after she is here.
Anxiety and jitters are starting to settle in, and my thoughts are running wild with some scary thoughts. I just have so much going through my head that needs to get done, and I’m nervous it won’t get done before Baby Yee is here.

Some of my anxious random thoughts are:
~Will the nursery be ready on time before she gets here? We are painting and having new carpet installed the third week of May.
~Will she like her name? I don’t know why I’m so concerned about it, Travis said she doesn’t have a choice. And yes we have her first and middle name picked out, but we are waiting til she is born to reveal it. We’ve actually had our children’s names all picked out since our Engagement.
~ Preterm labor? The one thought that has been invading my head the most since the third trimester hit. I’ve been told that I’m high-risk for preterm labor and it may happen, but at this point my OBGYN thinks I may go full term which I’m praying happens. So I will be trying to take it as easy as possible for the next 2 months, easier said than done.
~What do I pack in my hospital bag?
~Labor and delivery. Definitely nervous about this and how difficult it is going to be. We are taking a Birthing Class in the beginning of June so hopefully that will offer some insight into the process. I’m sure that will all fly out the window though when the time comes.
~Will I have a flare-up after delivery?
~Can I handle a newborn, Graduate School and working full-time all at once?
~Will Travis and I be good parents, and how in the world are we going to know what to do? As time inches closer, I’m terrified that I’m not going to know what to do. I heard your instincts just kick in, I just want to be the best mother possible for my baby.

Those are just some of my crazy thoughts. The positive thoughts/updates about Baby Yee is that she is definitely growing. Trust me, I feel like a house so she better be growing in there! At my last ultrasound she measured at 2lbs. 15 oz which my perinatologist told me is right on track as to what she should be weighing at this point. She also has a lot of hair, and is developing very well! From this point on she should be gaining a good amount of weight every week or so until she is here! On that note, I would like to end this entry with a note to our sweet Baby Girl.

Dear Baby Girl,
Mommy and Daddy can’t wait until you are here. We talk about you every day and how wonderful you already make our lives and you aren’t even here yet. God has blessed us in ways we couldn’t even imagine, and we can’t wait to hold and have you with us. I pray for you every day, and hope that you continue growing so you will be soon and healthy when you enter this world. We love you, and so does Stella Lu (she can’t wait to meet you too!)
Love Always,
Mommy & Daddy

Baby Girl!!

Haven’t written on here in a while, I have to get used to blogging!

There have been several fantastic updates since I last wrote. The biggest and best one is that Baby Yee is a girl! Of course I’m beyond thrilled, and Travis is freaking out about ballet lessons, boys and her future wedding all before she has even entered this world. I could already tell she is going to be a Daddy’s girl, and he will be like putty in her cute little hands! We have also settled on a name, but it won’t be revealed until Baby Girl is born. We want to leave some elements to surprise, and plus I’m kind superstitious about family/friends referring to her by name before she is born. I know, I know I’m weird but it brings peace to me knowing that most people don’t know her name yet.

The anatomy scan with the perinatologist was so incredible. Baby is about a pound now and 7-8 inches long (about the size of a papaya). We were able to see some of her physical features such as her hands, feet, legs, and facial features during the scan. She was moving around and kicking like crazy as it was happening and you could see her punching/kicking me, it was unreal. We also had a 3d scan where we could see her facial features up close: the outline of her lips and nose, and her facial shape. It was probably one of my favorite experiences I’ve had since pregnancy started. I will be seeing my perinatologist every 4 weeks from now until the delivery because she wants to monitor the baby’s weight. When you have Crohn’s Disease you are more prone to have a baby that has a lower birth weight than normal. As of right now Baby Yee is growing on track, and there are no problems that the perinatologist noticed so that was a relief. My next appointment is in 2 weeks and I will be almost 26 weeks by then, so I can’t imagine how much she has grown.
Side Profile
3D Scan of Baby Girl Yee!
So naturally when you find out the sex of your baby, what’s the next thing you do?!?! Travis and I took on the daunting task of registering for everything and anything you can imagine in Babies R Us. I can’t believe how many things babies need, I felt extremely overwhelmed, but we managed to finish. Of course I was reluctant to zap so many things, but Travis took the gun from me and starting zapping away which he definitely enjoyed. The bigger items we decided to keep neutral in case we end up having a boy (Travis has his fingers crossed) in the future, but we still registered for girly items. We have also picked out a nursery theme which is adorable, and also in the process of deciding on a paint color (leaning towards a subtle purple). Travis and I also bought our first sports shirts for Baby Girl, of course you know who has the better choice. I also bought her first outfit, Travis was a little appalled at some of the clothing for young babies, the short skirts and booty shorts will not be an option as he said hahaha. I could just picture what he will be like in the future!
I love the ruffles!
I will be 6 months on Sunday! I can’t believe how quickly time has gone by, and that she will be here in 16 weeks. The movement in my stomach has intensified, but I love every second of it. When she is moving around, you could see my stomach moving which was a little freaky at first, but now doesn’t bother me. I have also popped which is a huge transition for me, I don’t really mind it though, just trying to adapt to it. Although I am now dealing with heartburn and swollen feet all of a sudden, so I’m sure it won’t get any better from this point on. I am hungry all the time, but have been trying to watch my weight. I have an OB appointment tomorrow, and I am dreading the scale (haven’t seen him in about 3-4 weeks). The weirdest craving I’ve had so far is putting Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Wings Sauce all over my salad during lunch the other day.

Many family/friends have asked where we are registered! We are registered at Babies R Us, and also here:
We are planning to cloth diaper, so Cotton Babies is a great site where they offer the cloth diapers we are interested in.

That's all for now!

Bed Rest

Pregnancy is supposed to be fun right?! Well at some points it can be, but to say the least the past 6 days have been scary and emotionally draining. The chaos started when I went to the ER last Saturday around midnight because I saw that I was bleeding. I was very shaken up, but I'm lucky to have a great husband who is as calm as can be. I had a sonogram done, and the baby was very active and moving around, so the doctor determined that everything was fine and told us not to worry. We ended up getting home from the ER around 4am and Travis woke up 3 hours later for church. I have no idea how he did it.

I rested all day on Sunday and went to work on Monday trying not to stress out about everything.  I had to go to my OB/GYN in the morning because I wasn't feeling right, well I am definitely glad that I went. It turns out I have an inflamed cervix, and my OB decided to put me on bed rest for a week. It scared me and I was a wreck because I am not the type that would enjoy being on bed rest. Travis quickly put me in check and told me that I would either be in bed, or on the couch because that's what my doctor ordered. Travis took over everything in the house, making breakfast and lunch for me, cooking dinner (he made chili for the first time!), cleaning, doing dishes, he even took down our 8 foot Christmas tree all by himself. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband, but it is driving me crazy that I can't do anything!

To occupy myself I have been watching a lot of tv, using my laptop, taking naps during the day (which is the one thing I have loved!), and trying not to do anything around the house. I have gotten yelled at numerous times by Travis to sit down and try not to clean up. My mother-in-law is here now and cooking up a storm and tackled our massive amount of laundry which we are both grateful for. I am looking forward to bed rest being over Sunday and everything hopefully being okay and back to normal. I will be 17 weeks on Sunday! I am praying for the rest of my pregnancy to be uneventful, and I look forward to Baby Yee being healthy and happy!

4 Months

4 months have past and we are still learning new things about pregnancy.  Somethings that one has to go through even though numerous books/blogs/comments all state the same thing.  I can read as much as I want about new dads to be and for husbands whose wife is pregnant, it is not the same until one experiences it.  While the ride is like a roller coaster, it is a ride that I hope does not end.  Every time I see the picture of the Ultra Sound, I am amazed that God has blessed us with a child.  Keep up the Good Work Phyllis and I hope the child loves Orange and Blue.

We are Pregnant!!

Travis and I are expecting a baby on July 3, 2011! It feels so good that everyone finally knows. We are so excited, and decided to start this blog to keep our family and friends up to date about what is going on in our lives, the joys and lows of pregnancy and all the fun things life has to offer.

We first found out that I was pregnant on October 20, 2010, and I had my first OB/GYN appointment about a week later. My OB determined that I was going to be due on June 19, 2010 which happened to be Father's Day, which we were very happy about. My first sonogram was on November 9th, and it was absolutely amazing to see.
The tiny heartbeat was beating on the screen, and we couldn't believe that was the baby. I think at that point it had finally hit me that I was pregnant. Three days later my OB determined that I was earlier than he thought I originally was because the baby was measuring at 6 weeks. So now my new due date is July 3rd, so we could possibly have a holiday baby!

I've had several appointments and everything seems to be going very well so far. I haven't experienced much morning sickness, but the fatigue has been horrendous. The first 10 weeks were the worst, and I wasn't sleeping much. I rarely sleep through the night anymore, I thought I was supposed to always be tired! I had my first trimester ultra screening on December 15th and Baby Yee is right on track and healthy.
Not sure why I can't rotate this pic!
We will be finding out the sex of the baby hopefully by the beginning of February. So anxious about it, can't wait to know! I already have themes in mind for the nursery depending on the sex of the baby.

Can't wait to meet Baby Yee! That's all for now, still trying to get used to writing on this thing. I'm sure you will hear from Travis at some point!
